Custom 3D printing
Capabilities:
Print up to an 8 inch cube
I can do custom design work for a fee depending on the complexity of the part
I am willing to try new filaments if you have a specialty use case or requirement. I will not guarantee anything with new filaments.
Materials:
-
Very stiff. Suitable for models and prototypes. PLA has a low melting point so if it is left inside a car in the summer it will warp. Not suitable for mechanical applications or outdoors.
-
Best for mechanical parts. Good for use outside or in a vehicle. Greater tolerance for flexing that PLA. This is the material of choice for anything that will be used regularly.
-
Hard plastic. High temperature melting point. Suitable for outdoors and in vehicles or anything mechanical. Has better wear resistance than PLA. Addition of carbon fibers into the plastic makes it super strong and is a great option for functional parts that will take a beating. I printed a go-kart rim out of this material and did doughnuts with it.
-
Carbon fiber reinforced Nylon. Similar to CF-PETG, this material is nylon with carbon fibers in it. This is the strongest, toughest plastic I can print. It is hard to describe just how tough this stuff is.
